JOEL is a combination of Noel and James, Emma and Matthew Pearson’s twin boys who were born sleeping in 2011. They founded JOEL in 2012, with friend Lisa Bramley, after they discovered a lack of support throughout their first rainbow pregnancy - the term referred to as a baby born after a loss.
The initial focus of the JOEL team was to raise funds for a local Sands group (Stillbirth & neonatal death charity) and Bassetlaw Hospital, as a thank you for all the wonderful support received.
Our team of doctors and paramedics carry life-saving equipment on board the helicopter and critical care cars which means they take an emergency department directly to the scene of some of the most serious incidents in Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire. Our crews work closely with the ambulance service, first responders, Police, Fire & Rescue and other emergency services such as HM Coastguard.
In Sam’s Name is a talking and peer support group for men throughout Nottinghamshire who have either been through a challenging time or are currently going through issues that are affecting their mental health. The group holds meetings in Worksop, Retford, Ollerton, Mansfield and Kirkby in Ashfield and holds a monthly Walk & Talk in Worksop. In Sam’s Name – For Her is a group for ladies that are finding life a little challenging and can be around other ladies in a similar situation, with their meetings been held in Worksop.
