A good mix of young harrier boys and girls representing their schools this weekend at the Berry Hill Schools XC across a variety of distances.
First race of the day saw the year 8/9 boys and year 10/11 girls, with Miley Townrow finishing high up the field in 4th whilst Henry Marks came middle of the field with an amazing finish! Next up in a huge field of competitors, Year 5/6 girls Aya St Juste took a podium in 3rd with Lauren Townrow 26th In the Year 7 boys and year 8/9 girls, Isaac Beresford came 6th whilst a great run was had by Holly Bulmer. Highest finish of the day in the year 5/6 boys saw George North take another podium in 2nd whilst finishing up with the Year 10/11 boys with an excellent run by Harry Cole in 21st.
On to Sunday and two PB's at the Derby 10 miler. Starting by Derby's Pride Park, the route sends runners along the River Derwent before a loop of Elvaston Castle and then back with both Harriers putting the fast course to good use with some excellent times. Nick Mould smashed his club standard target to run 1:09:22 and a club bronze standard followed shortly by recent addition to the club Sam Robinson with a great debut also hitting her race targets in 1:25:55
