There was lots of action for our juniors this weekend, as the second Sportshall Mini League took place. With opportunities for competition across many disciplines for young athletes aged 8 to 15, the Harriers squad had a great day and currently the team are 3rd overall in the league this season.

In the under 11 girls, Libby Mould and Lauren Townrow had strong performances, with Lauren 2nd in the 2 lap, and 5th in hurdles and 1 lap, and Libby  3rd in triple jump and 4th in chest push.

Our under 11 boys, Oakley Allsop, Roman Marks and George and Freddie North, had a good day. Notably, Roman was 2nd in the 1 lap and chest push, George had a great day with 1st place in hurdles and triple jump and  2nd in high jump and under over relay, with brother Freddie not far behind on the high jump, and Oakley took 2nd in the 2 lap relay.

Not to be outdone, the under 13 girls were represented by Eliza De Villiers, scoring in the 2 lap, long jump and high jump and Ethan Baxter took 2nd for the under 13 boys in the 2 lap and high jump.

The under 15’s girls team of Holly Bulmer, Summer Johnson, Emilia Jonczyk and Heidi Marks had great success including 2nd for Holly in the 2 lap, wins for Summer in the 4 lap and long jump, 2nd in long jump and 3rd in the relay,  3rd for Emilia in the speed bounce, and 3rd for Heidi in the high jump.

And finally, Henry Marks represented the under 15 boys with scores in the 2 lap, high jump and a 2nd place in the speed bounce. A huge well done to all our young athletes!

In the EIS South Yorkshire Indoor Series, Isaac Beresford scored valuable points in long jump, the 800m and shot, setting himself up nicely for the next round in December.

Our main senior action was at the local KMR series, with plenty of Harriers taking on the 5 mile Canal Race. Henry Brady, Matt Daly and Adam Turner took 2nd, 3rd and 4th for the men, backed up by Ryan Brown, Kerry and Kev Saville and Neil Allsop. For the ladies, Hannah Miller had a strong run to make it her 8th KMR race and remain in the running for the series title, and there was a welcome return to racing for Sharon James.

Lastly, Adrian Thompson had a fantastic experience taking part in the New York Marathon, on a tough course with incredible crowd support.
