A quieter week of racing this weekend but still plenty of worthy mentions as some of our young Harriers competed in the Sheffield Indoor Run, Jumps and Throws Meet on Sunday. Excellent results as the boys competed in various events. Isaac Beresford took on three events and three PB's of 60m Sprint (9.02s), A big PB in 3kg shot massive PB 6.49 and 800 indoors PB 2.38. Isaac was joined by Mason Heath competing in the 200 m with an excellent run.
Three PB's for the girls too as Summer Johnson is looking good for the Pentathlon next year with PBs in 200m (30.58s), Shot - 7.62m (pb and 3rd place!) and a Long Jump of 4.20m.
Up on the Fells, Kerry Dickinson and Sally Staveley headed to Over Haddon near Bakewell to take part in the 'Leg it Round Lathkill' race in aid of Children in Need.
This category BM race is 7.1 miles long, taking in Lathkill Dale, part of the Limestone Way, lots of stiles and gates, a flight of approximately 150 steep steps and just over half a mile of uphill meadow to the finish. Conditions were unusually dry underfoot and we finished in 1:33. Efforts were rewarded with a cup of tea and a very welcome piece of flapjack
Whilst a few Harriers were out of town racing, numerous Harriers who a few Sunday's back stood on the side lines making the magic happen gathered for the 'Not-the-Worksop-Half'. An annual tradition of running parts of the Worksop Half Course a week or two after the real event (diverting for busy roads of course). Conditions wern't quite as picturesque as the official race day but it still made for a great morning out with many running friends taking in some of the best points of Clumber before retreating post run for a well deserved Team Sunday Lunch
