It was all road action this Sunday as the Harriers competed over 10 miles in the Club GP race at the Derby 10. Starting at the Derby arena the course is flat and fast (save for the wet weather creating some unplanned water features) as it heads out towards Alvaston before back along the River Derwent and finish back by the Stadium. Much of the GP continues to be tight across both overall and age as we saw fast times, PBs and a good handful of club standards achieved. Tom Shaw was the first Harrier (55:28) with Matt Daly 2nd pushing right to line to dip under the hour for the 1st time (50:58 and Silver Standard). Paul Marriott worked well with Matt to follow shortly (1:01:29) and Kerry Saville in 1:10:34. Lucy Binch led our ladies home (1:11:43 and Silver Standard). Sam Robinson followed next with a 10 Mile PB of 10  minutes and her first silver standard within touching distance, before Neil Allsop and Tamara Hazlehurst were another Harriers pair working well together in 1:17:41 (and a Silver Standard for Tamara). A close finish for Julie Holloway and Samantha Marriott (1:20:11 and 1:20:17) saw Julie take her 10 mile Silver Standard whilst an excellent run from Rachel Silcock seeing continued improvement (1:27:23) and a PB for Charlotte Randell (1:28:48) rounded out a great morning the Harriers.

It was yet more fun and games just down the road in Staffordshire as the Bulmers family took part in the Alton Towers 5k and Half Marathon. Starting with the 5k starting by the Alton Towers Gardens before twisting and turning through the park on the Hilly course. Holly Bulmer was joined by Ben Rhodes as both had an excellent morning out. Ben squeezed inside the top-10 with a run of 17:22 whilst Holly produced one of her best performances to day running 21:56 as she finished 2nd U15 and 11th female overall!

With the short fast one out the David and Sally Bulmer took on the half marathon with a lap course taking on the same tour of the park (and hills!) as well as an extended loop out as David ran a PB in 1:42:45 with Sally pacing herself well right to the end running 2:07:56
