Podium position for Hannah Miller as we took part in the penultimate Summer League Match at Hexgreave Hall. A later than usual edition after weather cancelled the race back in April, it was a full Summer Night on the 4.5 mile course featuring a fast downhill road start before a mix of trails, grass and a few sharp climbs for good measure. Miller Hannah led home not only the Worksop Ladies but the entire Ladies field, going one better than her last match to take 1st place. A strong run by Madi Spencer saw her finish 29th, followed by Sam Marriott (53rd) and Julie Holloway (63rd) as the ladies finished 4th overall on the night.
Some great form from the men’s team as we continue our search for medals. Dom Fielding cemented his grip on a senior medal, finishing 17th and moving up to 3rd overall in the series whilst Matt Daly finished 32nd to keep up the pressure on the V35 medals. Henry Brady finished 55th followed by Paul Parry (66th) and Chris Bliss making the cut of the scoring 5 in 90th as the Men finished 6th overall on the night.
On to the weekend and several Harriers took advantage of the Summer Holiday trip to find some holiday racing as Kate Thorneloe joined the Bulmers at the Indian Queens Half Marathon in Cornwall. An undulating out and back along Goss Moor Nature Reserve, Dave bagged himself a course PB in 1:50:31 whilst Sally and Kate made their way around the course, finishing together in 2:17:27
Speaking of PB’s and heading North this time, three Harriers took on the York 10k. A flat but twisty course as it waves its way through York City Centre, past the famous landmarks before along the river and Rowntree park to finish at the race course, Paul Parry set him self a big PB as he ran 37:31, whilst Jack Hutchinson executed some excellent even splits to run 40:32. Joining Paul was another PB Parry as Jane completed her first 10k as training continues in 1:31:09
