As the XC season ends, and the junior and senior squads focus on training, there were a handful of events this weekend, with great results! We pride ourselves on the family friendly nature of the club, with many parents, guardians, siblings and children all being members and this weekend showed the incredible family spirit of the squad!

First up, starting on Saturday, and in Neil's case still going when other races had ended, brother-in-law's Neil Allsop and Adam Turner took on the Rasslebock Backyard Ultra at Sherwood Pines. Running 4.167 miles on the hour every hour, this was their first BYU experience, and they were superbly supported by family members, including Neil's wife and son Claire and Oakley Allsop, also Harrier members. Neil ran a whopping 24 laps for 100 miles and Adam ran 14 laps for 58 miles, both incredible achievements. A big shout to Claire and other family members for crewing them all night, and a special mention to Oakley. Always supportive of his fellow athletes, the outpouring of thanks on social media from BYU runners for the support, cheering, and horn honking that Oakley showed for every runner all night was huge and showed what a credit he is to his family and the club.

On Sunday, more big family achievements as the Bulmer's took on the shorter but much faster Chester Zoo 5k. Junior athlete Holly Bulmer, one of the younger runners, ran a fabulous race to take 2nd lady and 12th overall! Mum Sally won her age category, and dad David was 3rd in his. a good day at the office and another show of family achievements!

Finally, Sheffield Half Marathon, a hilly road race, took place on Sunday and as ever a good few Harriers took part, although forgot to take a photo! Paul Marriott led the Harriers home followed by Adam Jonczyk, Nick Mould, Aaron Buckland and James Morris, with fantastic runs all round.

Well done everyone!
