A double helping as we catch up two weeks on this weeks run report and we start at the finale of the Notts Summer League as it was a quiet night as a few Harriers had their final role of the dice in search of medals. Five men made up the Harriers men’s team as Don finished 15th (and 3rd senior overall in the series, followed by Tom Shaw (23rd), Matt Daly (38th and narrowly missing out on a V35 medal in 4th) with Paul Parry in 64th and Ethan Ellery (113th). The harriers men’s team also finished 4th overall in the series. Charlotte Callaghan was the sole female representative on the evening finishing 58th.
A couple other Wednesday nights out as Chris Lawrence, Sharon James and Kev Saville took on the Butchers Dog Leg KMR whilst it was more holiday runs for the Bulmers and Thorneloe as they took part in the Vale of Lanherne Charity Trail Race with Holly coming in 1st Junior and Sally 3rd in the vets race.
On to the weekend and a sole Saturday but a big one as Chris Lawrence and Nat Cunningham took on the Cordwell Colossus for 20 miles and 3000 ft of climbs around the Peak District.
A week later and another KMR over at Elsecar with a new 4 mile mostly road course and some light trails and the harriers made light work of the competition with Dom Fielding bagging another win in the series and Matt Daly 3rd and 1st V35
Saturday and off the trails and on to the track and some great PB’s, club standards and first experiences of T&F. Ben Rhodes and Nick Moore both got 5,000 m PB’s of 16:09.7 and 17:10.7 whilst Dom Fielding set a very swift 1st timer of 4:27 in the 1,500m. Sticking with first timers and Madi Spencer bagged a PB and a club standard running 12:32.7 in the 3,000 m. Finishing with the sprints and Ethan Ellery ran 25.8s in the 200 m and took 1st in the 400 m in 57.3s. Ethan was joined by James Lonsdale running 27.9s and 59.1s respectively.
Finishing off the weekend and leaving it to the last minute Henry Brady and Hannah Miller took part in the half marathon at the Cornwall Running Festival. A lapped evening course around Scorrier House to bag a prize each as Hannah took 1st lady and Henry took 3rd in the men’s race.
